Switched from Mobile 1 - In the Trial Phase - So far, pretty good

I purchased a 2009 4 cylinder Camry in the summer of 09. I have rigorously been tracking the mpg (miles per gal) using an excel spread sheet. The first oil change I had done I put in Mobile 1, I averaged 27.9130 mpg for that 5000 miles. Weather was hot and we ran A/C alot. My second oil change on Oct 10th was Mobile 1 again. My mpg for that 5000 miles dropped to 25.7937 mpg for some strange reason I still can't figure out, (yes, I changed the oil filter and air filter). I decided it was time to try this new Eneos oil. So at my last oil change I had this stuff put in. My first MPG I get out of it was 27.9305 mpg. It's back up to where it should be, however this is only one fill. It will take another 5000 miles to get an accurate tail of what this new oil does for me. I will alter my rating of this product and keep you updated on what happens, but so far, I am happy with the results. I should mention that this looks promising, as I was doing quite a bit of city driving on this last tank, which usually knocks me down to 26 mpg.
I do have a question for you guys. Do any of you know if cold affects mpg, and if so, how much? It was pretty cold outside the months when I was getting 25.7937 mpg on average. I just don't believe cold temperatures of around 40 degrees could have done that.

I filled up yesterday, got 28.3692mpg with a considerable amount of city driving. I am very happy with that. I looked up what cold temperature does to mpg and apparently, for some pretty complex reasons, it's normal for your vehicle to loose 2-3mpg in cold weather, pretty much has to do with the fact that it takes longer for your car to reach normal operating temperature. With that said, the temperature outside with this new oil is not that much higher than it has been these last few months being on mobile 1. I am interested to see the comparison in MPG when the temperature gets to 70-90 degrees like it was last summer when I was using Mobile 1. I will keep you posted.

I have filled up twice since the last update. I got 27.3922 MPG on one fill and a whopping 29.9908 MPG on my last. What is impressive and promising about these numbers is that these results are under a considerable amount of city driving. I wouldn't normally get such results using Mobile 1 unless I was doing mostly highway. I am still happy with this product. I will be taking a 3000 mile road trip in the next month so stay tuned for some results, although I will have a Yakima Skypbox 18 on top of my car which will cause quite a bit of drag. So I expect a 20% decrease in gas mileage.
Update 6/21/2010
Sorry for not updating in a while. The oil has been doing just fine, however I don't have any new results to report as I am on a 6 month stay on the east cost and as such am traveling with a skybox and excesive weight. I gave up tracking results till Nov 2010 as during this trip they will be very random and un-conclusive. When I settle back down over on the west cost in Nov 2010, I will continue my tracking then. In the mean time, I am very happy with this oil. It got me accross the US, over 3000 miles of travel without a hicup; even with some hard RPM's through mountainance areas, and carrying an extra extimated 400lbs, I only had to add a little bit of extra oil as some of it burned off. I didn't actually get around to changing the oil until after the trip accross the US and at that point I was overdue for an oil change being 6000 miles plus since the last. However, even with the excess milage, the oil did not appear very dirty. Hope this helps. I will update again early 2011 after I have some new results.

great oil.....pricey

I use this oil on my 2010 Honda CR-V. Switched from Mobil 1, engine sounds/feels much smoother. it's expensive though so I'm not sure if i will stick to this brand unless it will be cheaper.

Popular motor oil in Japan

There are many things you need to know about motor oil before considering one of the many great products out there such as this one from Eneos.
Motor oil technologies has gotten so much more advanced (and so has engine technology) in recent years, that it's hard to go wrong with conventional motor oil. As long as you take good care of your vehicle with proper maintenance and stick to the factory recommended OCI (Oil change intervals), you will have a clean and properly functioning vehicle.
However, Synthetic oils do have some advantages over conventional oils that do make them appealing to the enthusiasts. Firstly, synthetic oils have more cleaning agents and less impurities meaning they will last longer and help you extend your OCI. (OCI can be extended with conventional oils also. Just get your oil analyzed from companies like Blackstone labs.) Synthetic oils also take higher temperatures better than conventional oils can. Although synthetic oils have many advantages over conventional oils, they do have a drawback. Price. They are often 2-3 times more than conventional oils. However, if you get your oil analyzed and extend your OCI properly, you can save money! Not only can you save money, but you'll save time by not having to go to the shop to get oil changes every few months. (Just make sure you change the filter inbetween long OCIs since they'll get clogged no matter what oil you use)
Finally, if you decide synthetic oils are for you, just make sure you get the proper weights in oil. Take a look at your oil cap/car manual and confirm the weights. For example, many new cars have switched to 0w-20 to improve gas mileage. If you drive a European make, you will more likely see something along the lines of 0w-50. Please try to stick to the same weights as possible for it may affect your vehicles performance in it's intended function. However, if you drive vehicles like Toyota that often require 5w-30, it would be safe to use something like 5w-20 or 0w-20 in efforts to save fuel economy or for better cold winter start ups. Now go save that fuel economy! Your hard earned dollars should stay in your pocket!
